Welcome to a scorching edition of V:News! There is much to be told in the following bulletin, including details of Marco's massive Incharge:Outdoors event taking place this summer! That combined with Ibiza and other open-air shenanigans makes this for an essential read!
V:MAIN BITES It's all change in Ibiza this year, as the top jocks switch venues, nights and God knows what else, and Marco is one of them. Whereas in previous years Marco has been a regular feature of Thursday at Amnesia, this year he'll make the switch to Tuesdays, and will play for the massive Armada night! Marco forms part of a huge line up on launch night, which is June 17th. As well as several dates at Armada, Marco again teams up with Judge Jules for his impermeable Judgement Sundays. There is one more bit of 'Juicy' information, which we want to tell you but can't right now. Keep an eye on Marco's website and Myspace for further announcements.
The next MAIN BITE is a way off yet, but we wanted to give you plenty of time to lock this down in your own diaries. If you've been a V:Fan for some time then you'll have probably either experienced INCHARGE:OUTDOORS or have heard about it. This is one of Marco's many jewels and has only reared its head once before! Picture this: intimate surroundings, deep in a forest north of Amsterdam, Kersouwe to be exact. The sun is still shining at 8pm, the music is sonically blissful and the only people in attendance all share the same interest - to dance with Marco and friends. The significance of this place lies with the man himself. This is where it all began for Marco, and this is where the next episode of Incharge:Outdoors takes place. This event is truly special, it's truly Marco and everything about it is quintessentially Marco. Incharge:Outdoors takes place on Friday 12th September from 7pm thru till 1am. Marco will select the line-up very soon, so stay alert for the big announcement. We want everyone to appreciate the 'special' in this event and so ticket info along with hotel suggestions will be posted over the coming weeks and months.
V:SOUNDS As ever, if he isn't on tour or at home with his family, Marco can only be found in one place - the Studio! Now then, we've a little teaser for you here. It's no big shocker that Marco has only one studio partner and that collaborations are few and far between, BUT… recently someone has been paying a visit to Southside, and the result is that of something very special! We're not going to say anymore right now, but by the next edition - you can have it all! Next up is a very big one for Incharge and it comes from Marco's friend who also doubles up as a prolific producer - Senior Brian Cross. Brian has produced a massive track that has 'Anthem' stamped all over it. Testament to this lies in the fact he's licensed it to no less than 8 territories worldwide. Needless to say; Marco has got it for the Benelux and Netherlands and it's released on June 3rd. In other sonic news: Out now on Incharge is Ali Wilson's 'Quiver' and coming very soon Thomas Penton's 'Strip Walker'.
V:SOUNDS EXTRA You all know there is an artist album on the way from Marco and that it's the epicentre of what he does and achieves this year; but... before all that we've another gem to tell you about. Marco has been handpicked to mix this year's Amnesia compilation, more than that it's being called INCHARGE! CD1 will be mixed and CD2 will come in the form of a DJ tool - all tracks unmixed!
V:LIVE We've already popped the cork on the biggest piece of V:Live in telling you about Incharge:Outdoors, but this nevertheless is just as fat! The party 'Sensation' needs no introduction. Famed for it's epic production values, not to mention musical policy, it finds itself up there with the best dance events in the world. Until recently however, it had never left Dutch soil… that is until now. Marco, who's already featured on the Sensation Belgium line-up is due to play Sensation when it touches down in Prague on May 31st. Just over a month later, Marco takes part as a headliner at the homecoming party when it hits the Amsterdam Arena on July 5th. We don't need to tell you how fast these events sell out, you are advised to book early to secure your place.
V:ONLINE Marco has employed a news editor as part of an online kick-up the ass, and so from now on, you can expect much more in the way of news at www.marcov.nl. We'll aim to bring you up to the minute news from V:HQ as well other pieces of info we find relevant to what we do. We'll encourage you to leave your words of wisdom on the message board and may even reward you for your efforts. We're particularly interested in anyone capturing Marco on camera. If you've got some snaps of the man in action or other, do post them to us and we'll do our best to publish them.
V:COMPETITION As Ibiza is almost upon us and we're probably won't deliver another V:News before it all kicks off, we're offering 2 of you the chance to come and ensure Armada at Amnesia gets off to a rocking start. V:News has acquired 2 VIP tickets to the opening night which sees Marco play alongside Armin Van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Matthew Dekay and a whole host of others. We'll provide you with drinks all night (needless to say, over 18's only need apply), plus you'll get to meet Marco, shower him with love and rub noses with the Armada almighty. That is the attitude of one of the most successful and respected DJ/Producers of our time; Ferry Corsten. Last year he laid down an unforgettable night with 'Full On Ferry' in the Ahoy stadium Rotterdam, together with the organisers at UDC.
The spectacular sets by Christopher Lawrence, Fedde Le Grand, Cosmic Gate, the now-legendary Dutch debut of Breakfast, and of course Ferry, who blasted the stars from the heavens, made this party great. The flying DJ booth, the amazing laser shows and the thousands of people with Venetian masks in absolute ecstasy made the party legendary.
Ferry has always differentiated himself with a unique and broad dance sound. Trance is the common line, but he also has influences from the most diverse trends such as progressive, electro and house.
